“What a beautiful, gentle, understated gem of a place to be.”

One of those places which you almost do not want to shout about. You want to keep it to yourself! It is a beautifully located, lake front old-style bungalow right on the lake shore. All the rooms face this view which greets the dawn, where you meet fellow guests silently on the traditional wooden veranda, watching the sun rise and the local fishermen and women in their canoes going about their business. The little pool which provides you with an infinity view over the lake is quiet and gives you a wraparound of bird filled vegetation and coconut trees. It is a perfect, low key, well-appointed place to stay. Not loads of guests in a quiet back road surrounded by some real Kerela. We had tuk tuk or cab access to Cochin, the big beach, Alleppey and the back waters. We walked round the corner to the jetty where boats took us to the nearby nature reserve island. Wonderfully simple, locally sourced, home cooked breakfast and evening meals. Quite simply a little understated slice of paradise. But here's the thing it's the people who will mean you leave a little bit of your heart here. It is managed in a quiet, dignified very sympathetic way. Requests are dealt with efficiently but with such charm. We had fresh tender coconut picked for us, we watched the leaves being quietly swept. We eat a local breakfast on the veranda cooked and served with perfect coffee (thanks). Tuk tuks were booked for trips to Sunday Church and the Wifi rebooted but we didn't need it! We eat local fish with local people in the evening and talked about local things. What a gem. What lovely people. Oh yes. My wife is in a wheelchair, once you're at bedroom / veranda level this is 100% accessible including getting poolside.

Architecture and location worked very well

Lovely staff, splendid breakfasts, wonderful setting, totally relaxing. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed.

“Absolute paradise”

This villa is breathtaking, it's a very calm waterside property with a nice clean swimming pool and food options onsite for order. The staff were extremely helpful, always available for requests. Very clean rooms, the furniture and the aesthetics of the rooms are like royal quarters fit for kings. Definitely worth it if it's your first time in India and if you want to relax after the hustle and bustle of the cities. And they have a service to take you to a ln island not so far from the property on a boat, nice little island, kids will definitely love that place, a couple of shops for snacks, good views and nice walk for the adults, play area for the kids.

Size of the room

Highly recommend this place for a few night of peace and tranquility in Alleppey. A beautiful property with only a few rooms situated right on the lakeside. Home cooked local food and staff that are very friendly and make you feel one of the family from the moment you arrive. We stayed here for two nights but wosh it was more. Can't wait to go back!!

“Great Villa - just a secluded location”

The room and facilities were really great – the views of the backwaters was really nice – The breakfast spread was really nice - had dinner both nights at the villa, which was nice but only because there was nothing around within walking distance. The villa in itself has nothing at fault just location.

Polite staff and cleanliness

The hotel was peaceful and clean and the beds were comfy, which made for a very relaxing stay. Although the location wasn’t ideal and required a 35-minute taxi ride, we did enjoy a calm and scenic boat trip away from the busy main area of Alleppey. While the boat ride was quite overpriced, it was still a pleasant experience.

“nightmare experience”

Apart from its serene location, everything else needs to be improved for what you pay for a night. Worst services ever experienced from a high class accomodation. The shower drainage was clogged and it remained the same even after complaint and cleaning. Toilet flush was not working properly. Hot water and TV not functioning. No hair dryer in the room, only upon request. Limited staff and on top of that it's hard to communicate properly because of limited english comprehension. Even after talking to the manager nothing was resolved, they didn't even have the courtesy to change our room. I wouldn't recommend it personally. Also, prayers on loud speakers from a nearby temple wake you up at 5am in the morning. I respect the culture and traditions and I know that one can't do anything about these things. Just a heads-up for prospective guests.!

I loved staying at the property. It was so peaceful and serene, away from the hubbub of the town. The staff were extremely courteous, welcoming, and warm. The property is very beautiful, facing the backwaters of Kerela, it was a wonderful experience and a great place for a quiet gate-away.

Amazing stay and location. Everything is beautifully decorated, the rooms are spacious and cozy, the outdoor is stunning and well maintained. The atmosphere, the staff and the food are beyond expectations. We regretted that we couldn’t stay longer than one night.
