“Ayurveda, boathouse and great place!”

Like it so much we booked another night after our boathouse night! Jibu was kind enough to organise it for us with Pikadly boathouse which was a great experience! Highly recommend it. Also had another Ayurveda massage session that left us very relaxed, calm and energized. Jibu knows well his craft and is knowledgeable in Ayurveda and is ready to share his knowledge. Great host great place. A+

“A really pleasant time!”

The place, the location and especially Jibu made the whole visit really great. We had a great time exploring the city by foot, the backwaters by canoe ( gorgeous!) and Jibu even helped us book a delightful stay on a houseboat and introduce us to Ayurveda massage. Great food, great people and great times. Safe and trustworthy I definitely recommend this place! A+

I really enjoyed my stay at Abru’s Holidays. The host was very helpful and he took the time to show me around the beautiful villages of Allepey. They arranged a canoeing trip which was a nice way of exploring the backwaters and the price was very affordable. There is also an option of getting an Ayurveda massage which was very relaxing. The hotel is in a very good location close to the beach and not too far from the commercial street. Overall I would recommend this hotel

We had a great stay here at ABRU’s for Christmas! The rooms were simple and clean, the location is safe and great for walking around Allepey. Jibu was friendly and made the check in and check out process very easy. He also gave us some great local restaurant recommendations. We booked a full day backwater tour through Jibu at an affordable price that included lunch. Thank you Jibu!

“Best host in India”

The host was absolutely fantastic. Prior, during and after staying making sure we were completely informed on anything that we needed to know and going out of his way to help us with things that were absolutely not his responsibility whatsoever. Prior to check in he also provided us excellent information on the different options and ways to see the famous backwaters. We choose to do the canoeing and are delighted we did it was an excellent day out and fantastic value for money.

Had a great stay. Jibu was very helpful, organising a backwaters tour for us and even offers massage services. The room was very comfortable and clean, and it’s only a short distance from the beach. Would highly recommend.

“Beyond basic - it’s broken”

Jibu was a nice host who was friendly, rescued us from a huge spider in the room, took my friend to drop off some medication at a nearby hotel that had a fridge as it needed to be kept cold and gave us local tips for restaurants and the fact that Tuk tuks should only charge 30rs per km

“Really good place to stay for budget travellers with a lovely host”

Ideal for someone on a budget, we had a great stay at Abru’s Guesthouse in Alleppey. Jibu was one of the most kind and helpful hosts we’ve had. We arrived late due to our train being delayed and he waited up for us, even taking us on his scooter to get some water for the evening. Jibu organised our backwater trip for 1000 Indian rupees per person- we got picked up in a tuktuk, got the ferry to the backwaters, had breakfast & lunch in a local’s home and had hours of canoeing through the tiny backwater villages. It was such a special experience for a great price and super smoothly organised. The location was decent, about a 20 minute walk into the city centre or 10 minutes to the beach. Tuktuks also readily available in the area. We even picked one up super early one day at 6am! The area in general is extremely safe. The room is basic. It has everything you need - bed, hot water, towels, loo roll - but isn’t anything special. We stayed on the upper floor and really enjoyed the balcony. The price simply reflects what you get. We think it’s worth it for a short and sweet stay in Alleppey.

Great location not too far from railway station and with some shops and restaurants nearby. Jibu was incredibly helpful, arranging backwater tours for a really good price and checking in throughout my stay. Also gave some great recommendations for places to eat and offered help when I became ill during my stay. Highly recommend!

It’s a cozy home stay situated in the beach area. There’s a lovely balcony and you can be part of Alapusza’s daily life by observing the street near by. Unexpectedly there haven’t been many mosquitoes. Jibu is a great host who really takes care of his guests. He is always available on the phone and can organise a large variety of water activities such as canoeing and kayaking. We can really recommend it as it’s eco friendly and aloes you to discover even the smaller parts of the backwaters. Alapusza is a nice water based town with traditional neighbourhoods and upcoming young businesses (80s vintage clothing) and small little modern espresso bars and restaurants. It’s worth it! Enjoy!

Jibu made my experience here super special! He welcomed me as a friend and went above and beyond to show me the area and he’s incredibly hospitable and fun to hang out with. He even picked me up from the homestay in Marari where I was staying before. He can organise activities in the area and give helpful recommendations. The room is good value for money and it’s walking distance from the beach. Thank you!!
