“Quiet, forest, lake, and reindeer - the real Finland experience”

We visited Lomakylä Atimo in the beginning of August. The accommodation was great, located in a quiet patch of forest with a view on the lake. The hostess was very friendly and easy to reach. The lounging area at the lake was really comfortable and had a collection of row boats, sup boards, and a canoo to use for free. Reindeer were often foraging around the house. Oulanka National Park was only a 20 minute drive away and the absolute highlight of our trip through Finland. For a rainy day we can really recommend the war museum in Salla at about 40 minutes driving.

Super cozy cottage directly by the lake. All basic needs are fulfilled, bathroom is spacious and very clean and has a Sauna. The location is directly by the lake with access to boats and a cozy boathouse. The owners were very nice and helpful and we enjoyed our stay here very much.

“Cosy little cottage on the stretch of wood between two lakes, beautiful nature around”

This is the typical Finnish mökki or guest cottage, located near the water in the woods, far from the hustle of any city. It fulfills it's puprose perfectly: you can stay face to face with the nature, with all the comfort you might need. The house is not big, but the surface is used effectively. Nice interior design, light and cosy. Good matresses, comfy bed. Kitchen has everything you need, up to salt, pepper and oil. Nice attentive host, advised us beforehand to take extra warm clothes as weather was going to be cold and windy.

There are 4 cottages in a row in a beautiful location in the middle of nowhere with a view of the lake. The owners are wonderful and helpful, at the end of our stay we even got a gift for our baby, who is still in the tummy, it felt like we were leaving the family :) they have cute dogs who love to cuddle and are friendly.The cottage is fully equipped, has a working sauna and fireplace. The kitchen has an air fryer, coffee machine, kettle and hob with two hotplates and is fully equipped.The cottage also has a TV, but we absolutely did not use it, the view from the terrace is absolutely sufficient and stunning, in the evening the crackling fire in the fireplace is better than the TV. The only thing the accommodation missing and you have to pay 15EUR per person is bed linen. At the lake there is a small pier, there is also a BBQ that is equipped and you can use it and also boats. If you have a car you can go on hikes/day trips to the nearby national park Oulanka or Riisitunturi. On the way to Oulanka park there is also a store about 16min from the accommodation or 20min in the "town" of Ruka. If you are looking for peace and quiet, where you will only be disturbed by the occasional motor boat on the lake or a reindeer grazing in front of your terrace, this is the ideal place! Highly recommended :)

Cozy cabin in a beautiful area with private lake. There is everything you need. Even kajak, stand up paddle and more for free to use.

Easy pick up, very friendly host with cute cats and dogs!! :) Very cute and cozy place, showed us around and made sure we had everything we need. Loved the fire and the sauna!!

“Lovely Winter vacation”

The cottage was cozy. We really liked the fireplace and the Private Sauna. The cottage is right next to a lake which ich perfect to see northern lights. Even with -25° it was comfortably warm thanks to all the heaters. Marianne, the caretaker was lovely and very helpful. We would love to come back. The location is great as well, national Parks and ski resort only ca. 30 minutes drive away.
