The breakfast was simple but delicious, just enough to get the day started on the right foot. The airport shuttle was an excellent value at only $6 CAD for the ride, especially compared to the roughly $30 CAD charged by local taxis. The staff were exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to help us during our stay. For a small additional fee, they even drove us to our rental car location, which was greatly appreciated. The air conditioning worked perfectly, and the beds were very comfortable, making for a pleasant and relaxing stay.

We used Melrost as an overnight stop, flying in from Cartagena in Colombia the previous day and flying down to Drakes Bay the following day. It was only ever intended to be an overnight crash pad convenient to the airport. And that was what it was. We'd booked an airport shuttle from the airport and pick up wasn;t that slick - we had limited time and it took an hour to get picked up - perhaps that was us not being explicit in our communications. The ensuite room was very small and basic and the thin walls meant that the guests leaving at midnight (to catch their flight) were easy to hear so not that peacefull. The drive to the airport the following morning was pretty fraught as the traffic was just not moving at all - we got there in time but a little nerve wracking. We left too early to get breakfast but did get provided a breakfast box. Wouldve loved a brew however. All told, it was relatively cheap, we would probably use again for convenience if we had to, but it really was just a bed for the night and a airport shuttle service and is very much on the basic/frugal end of the spectrum so dont expect too much.

Very kind driver from airport to location and the onboarding easy and perfect. For one night the right choice and since I left at 7:00 in the morning I received a surprise bag with food and drinks ... the extra surprise was a coffee to go for me served with a bright smile.

Location (quite, close to the Shopping Mall and Airport), staff. I had an early flight and come to.the hotel in the late evening. The staff organized my leave very well (transport, breakfast to go).

Staff is incredibly friendly! It was perfect for one night in San Jose. The location is good, a very quick drive from the airport and Alajuela mall is a 5 minute walk away. Breakfast was nice, overall no complaints!

It is extremely close walking distance to the mall which I enjoyed immensely. The room's were clean and the AC worked great. They asked when I would like the breakfast and it was delivered exactly on the minute I asked.

Close to the airport and we arrived well past midnight and there was no problem checking in and getting to our room. Breakfast was good sitting on the terrace.

Reception opened 24 hours. Located very close to the airport, so very convenient to start/finish the trip (traffic jam are reals between the airport and San José city center, so this was a real peace of mind to be close to the airport before having my flight). They offer airport shuttle for 3000 colones/6$ per ride. Bedroom simple but with everything we need. And breakfast the same: simple but good and sufficient. Served on the terrace, which was pleasant. TV easy to use (just turn-on and it works). And it's possible to leave your suitcase after check-out if your flight is later (Alajuela city-center quite close, so possible to visit it depending what time is your flight, and come back to take the airport shuttle)

Great b&b in fantastic location near the airport. Staff friendly and helpful. Near shopping centre for food. Breakfast was lovely and the room was clean. Shuttle arrived in 5 mins at the airport.

“Perfect stop over after landing, couldnt be happier!”

Super easy place to go to after landing in San Jose in the evening, before heading out the next day! Quick airport transfer by the Melrost team for a reasonable price, and they also brought us to the car rental office the next morning so we could pick our rental! The area is good, and theres lots of sounds of birds! Theres a big shopping mall 400m away which was useful to pick up a few necessities from. The room itself was very spacious and very comfortable and good breakfast! A final note to say thanks to the staff who were all super friendly and helpful!
