“No-thrills appartment in need of maintenance with an owner who does not respond to complaints”

This no-thrills appartment is well located, just a few hundred steps outside the city center and in walking distance of bus stops, churches and supermarkets. We wanted to use it as a basis for different trips on the region and for the usual household basics (washing, ironing clothes, preparing breakfast). It is well distributed between a kitchen/sofa space, a bed room with a few hangers, a shower with toilet as well as a laundry-drying room, with a sink and mirror between the two. Both main spaces have fans on the ceiling.

The property felt very safe and I slept with open windows. No need for AC although it was there. Everything worked just fine. Nice view over the city. Fairly private as well especially for an apartment.

We liked the location of Maria's Apartment because it was within easy walking distance to some good restaurants as well as supermarkets and also only a short drive away from the International Airport. The bed was really comfortable and the bedroom had a good seize. The kitchen was well equipped and I appreciated the sharp knives to cut up our pineapple and papaya for breakfast. We also appreciated meeting Maria herself, a friendly and kind property owner who had the time to chat to us. We enjoyed the balcony and we took time and rested up before our long trip home to New Zealand.

We didn't feel right with the girl who works there, she was strange... (the owner was nice) When we arrived, she was keep complaining that our room is too hot, we didn't know what to answer, should we cancel the room and stay somewhere else? No AC, hilariously the girl was right, it was too hot during the night. Paid cash upon C/I, however the was difficult to get our change back due to le language barrier I suppose, after few time of asking, I got it back the day before C/O.

This is my 3rd stay at this Hotel. It is my go to place in Costa Rica.
