I really like the overall feel to it. The à la carte breakfast concept was fantastic and I love the idea of minimising food waste. I also loved the original tiles. The location itself was perfect - a walking distance to everything you might want to visit.

Very close to the airport

Amazing hotel right in the centre of Alajuela, a great stay coming or going to the airport. Historic building with neatly made rooms. Amazing breakfast. The staff was extremely helpful.

The place was great for one night between the day you arrive and the transfer to La Fortuna. You will skip the main traffic. The breakfast was amazing.

We chose this hotel as we needed to be not too far from the airport. The deco was incredible .. the room spacious and the bed extra large !! Very good breakfast as well with coffee, fresh juice, fruit platter and a choice if your main .. I went for the French roast and it was incredible ! Staff very friendly and welcoming.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, the perfect stay if you need to be close to the airport and just need a place to sleep comfortably and have a good breakfast.

We've stayed here several times. It is quiet in spite of being centrally located because the walls are thick. The staff are very helpful. The beds are comfy and clean. Breakfast is very nice.

We needed a one night stopover close to the airport and this was perfect for that. Very clean, beds for our whole family in one room, super friendly staff and the breakfast was delicious.

I absolutely loved this hotel! Booked one night after arriving in San Jose, before travelling on. Loved the interior of the building, the open spaces, the traditional colours and furniture. And my room, which remained cool despite the heat outside. Everything I needed, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and set in a beautiful open area with vines and other lush plants growing up a high wall. The staff were very kind, welcoming and professional. Also the location is excellent near the centre of Alajuela and really near the airport. There was a good local restaurant across the road, very relaxed and I ate there that evening. I liked Hotel 1915 so much that I booked it again a couple of nights later before flying from Costa Rica to Colombia. We had a jolly walk around town and it was Festival time, so in the evening there was a salsa band in the square where all the residents were enjoying ourselves and we also had a dance. I have really fond memories of Hotel 1915 and of Alajuela. I would definitely go there again if ever in that part of the world.

Very nice house in a small town just by the airport. Super convenient in case of a layover or early flight, just 10min in taxi. Staff was really nice and there are small restaurants nearby.

Breakfast was lovely. very tasty. Not huge portins but freshly made and tasty. Short distance from airport. Safe carpark if driving. Friendly helpful staff. Near to the square and a few bars and places to eat. Downstairs area is pleasant

“A charming comfortable peaceful hotel”

I loved this hotel. It is in a beautiful old building with tiled floors and thick walls. I loved the thick dark carved wood headboard of my bed and found everything so comfortable and clean. Very happy with the overhead fan which made the room just the right temperature. Also loved the breakfast and sitting at the table looking at the tall vines and plants. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Also had a really good evening meal at the restaurant across the road which was welcome after a full days travelling.
