“Perfect first / last stop on a holiday”

Perfect place to stay a night when arriving or leaving by plane, close to the airport(much closer than san jose). The beds where comfortable, they had a nice green corner and the personal was helpfull. The neighborhood is gated and more quiet, clean and secure than the city. Just outside it is a small store. There are not many activities around, but you could visit the rescarte wildlife center or the poas vulcano .

“The best stay in San José after a long flight”

I cannot recommended enough this hostel! I had the perfect stay after a long flight. The transport from the airport was really convenient. The room was confortable and the breakfast amazing. The staff do his best to acommodate you. I will definitely go again if I need to pass by San José.

Very close to the airport and in a nice, quiet neighbourhood

For that price, you can't find better. So close to the airport and they accomodate very well for transportation. Owner and staff are really nice. I recommand !

“Great stay for a couple nights”

Perfect hostel for a night or two close to the airport. The hosts are very kind, breakfast was good, everything was clean, and the cutest little dog Molly to keep you company. Definitely recommend!

Very friendly service. I got picked up from the airport and got excellent tips for my very first steps in Costa Rica - how to get to the bus station, where to buy a sim card and what makes sense to visit when the weather on Carribean side is not good. The traditional breakfast included was a nice bonus included.

They came to pick me up from the airport at 1am Only stayed one night but the shared room had everything I needed. Bathroom was clean, with soap and shampoo. Breakfast was very good (typical gallo pinto).

“Kind hosts, clean rooms, and convenient shuttle service”

The hosts are very kind and welcoming. Breakfast is good. I had a single bed in a shared room and it was perfect. Everything is very clean, you get a towel, and the shower has hot water. I also recommend taking the shuttle with them—it’s very easy and probably cheaper than a taxi.

Really great location next to the airport. Lovely staff/ family running it. Breakfast was nice and I was lucky to have a dorm to myself. I enjoyed the little garden to relax in before my flight. The family also picked me up and dropped me off last minute as a transfer.

Great receptionist, very helpful and fun. Near airport. Clean. I ordered dinner for my arrival which was made by the owner and was really good! Booked transport to airport with them which was convenient.

Bed Comfortable Although 3rd Floor Bunk, Shallow Cool Pool, & Decent Pancakes...Good Location. Cheap Price on HW $9 But Ms.Boss Charged Me $11, I thought reserving in person instead of HW would help the business & no 15% to HW but got charged $2 More. 1 Cool Staff Guy, The Rest, MEH. Not Good Vibes, 1 Angry Old Guy speaking loud & angry about something, I respectfully verbalized "please take drama to private" , I just woke up & don't need negative energy.

Lovely place in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. Hostel offers PU from the airport wich was perfectly arranged. Lovely garden very green and lush. The rooms and beds are very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is included and very nice!

“A wonderful stay”

All of the many wonderful people in the Garden House team. They really give the place a warm soul. On the facilities side: shower had good pressure (and temperature) in the 8 bed dormitory, bed was comfy, room was clean and there is even a free breakfast included. Incredible value for money. What makes this place stand out is the genuine warmth and care of the team. We are so happy to have spent our first three nights there and really hope to return!
