“Traditional Japanese home stay for a reasonable price outside of Akita City!”
Just like the name implies this “hotel” has an at home feel, you can experience what it’s like staying in a big and beautiful traditional Japanese home. The staff are extremely friendly and it was a lovely warm home.

“Foster family for a night”
The family was very kind, friendly and helpful and the japanese traditional home was confortable and beautiful. I went solo traveling and I was very tired after my trip, trying the futon for the first time was fun and relaxing.

“Wonderful place to stay (though consider the location)”
This is a wonderful place to stay *if* you have a (rental) car or are willing to spend several thousand yen on a taxi one-way from the train station or airport. Located on the outskirts of the city, amid wide ride fields, this large Japanese-style house (actually, a main house and additional house) has around 6 comfortable rooms to let, both Western rooms with beds and Japanese tatami rooms with futons. It's a lovely, peaceful location and the owners are very friendly and kind (though they don't speak English). So, if the location isn't an issue--in terms of its proximity to the train station and the city center--this place is highly recommended!

The owners were so nice, gifting us with some meals even inviting us for a takoyaki party with dinner of their friends They showed us around since we had no means of transportation An incredible human experience A beautiful traditional house and very comfortable in a quiet outskirts of Akita

No meal plan. There's no food in the house. However, talking to the owner, he said that a catering company could be asked if a big group uses Minna no Jika. There's a taxi company near the place that there's no problem to ask for one at any time.

“lovely stay”
My stay at this guesthouse was fantastic. The room was beautifully designed and very comfortable, making it a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. One of the practical highlights was having access to a laundry machine and a separate room for drying clothes, which was very convenient. The bathroom was clean and well-equipped, offering everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

“Beautiful ryokan style lodging.”
This is a location that is mainly accessible by car. Was very glad to find free parking. The building was beautiful and somewhat traditional. The beds were futon style and while they are definitely not the most comfortable futons I've slept on, it was still pleasant experience. If there are a lot of people, negotiating the shower situation can be tricky as there is only one available.

“We wanted to explore Akita - a nice city - and staying at みんなの実家門脇家 made it perfect.”
The house is beautiful and in a nice neighbourhood. We got a warm welcome and enjoyed the stay very much. The view into the garden was like in the picture - lovely. The tatami-room was elegant and cozy. We were happy to enjoy the hospitality of the host family. Arigatou gouzaimasu!

“Best place to stay in Akita”
The PERFECT place to stay in Akita. So quiet and beautiful. Surrounded by rice fields and a great place for sunset too. Hosts were so kind and friendly and rooms were spacious and cool. Would 100% recommend to anyone staying in Akita.

“Definitely recommend this stay if you want to experience rural Akita life!”
I loved this place! It was very easy to get to by car, and I was the only guest in the entire house. The owners are so nice, and always willing to chat with you. They don't know much English so it is better if you know Japanese. However, your stay will still be a very comfortable one as they go above and beyond to meet all your expectations.
