“Where the cliff swallows the stars”

If you wish to see the Todgha Gorge before anybody else, I insist you stay here. It's the last hotel before the gorge and you can certainly be the first ones in there come dawn, provided you wake up early. We drove in at night. The new moon shrouded us in darkness, save for our headlights, so that the whole drive in, we were wondering where the gorge actually was -- figured it must be below us. Then, we arrived at the hotel, stepped out of the car and half the stars were missing from the sky. That's when it hit us: the cliff towered above us, and we were standing at its toes. It is a primal, humbling experience, the black towering over you, and when you're there at night, that close to the cliff, it almost tells you, without words: you seem to have forgotten how small you are. You feel that in your bones. You can only get that with the location which Hotel De La Vallée affords. We were a late check-in but the kitchen arranged us dinner (ask in advance if you know you'll be coming in late, they accommodated us and perhaps you too). Come morning, we look through the window and see cliff. We were out at the crack of dawn, walked 2 minutes and saw the gorge before anybody else, even the vendors. Then we ate breakfast at the hotel, sat on the terrace and watched rock climbers belay down the cliff face. By the time we were done and packing our bags, we see from our window hordes -- tour buses of thirty, forty, fifty people -- coming in droves. Lucky us, we'd already got our fix. We were out before noon, just as the mass of people began to render the road unnavigable. Thank you to the Hotel De La Vallée for allowing us the sleep at the foot of the giants, where the cliff swallows the stars.

Really enjoyed our stay there. The host gave us a self-made map for the hike around the gorge and it was lovely to take the hike the day we stayed. Great food and lovely service.

Everything is great, staff is welcoming and super helpful. Breakfast is amazing and get you ready for exploring Morocco! Great location tho! Hotel staff even got us gear for ferrata which is nearby.

Fantastic location next to the gorge & perfect for climbing. Hot water is perfect after winter hike. Views of oasis are amazing.

This hotel is fantastic, it is right on the doorstep of Todra Gorge, the views from the terrace and the rooms are amazing and you are greeted with a warm welcome immediately. This is a hidden gem in Todra, if you want great food, great atmosphere (Ibrahim and his team are amazing), close to the gorge for excellent value for money, then stay here!! Also, the food is very tasty and the restaurant has many options for dietary requirements. We visited in December so Ibrahim provided a heat lamp for us which was excellent, and he even brought extra blankets for us which made it more cosy! When we explained what we wanted to see during our stay, Ibrahim guided us with his knowledge of the area, including the hike we took which was phenomenal and it even included passing by nomadic people living high up on the mountain. The end of the hike included passing by a Kasbah and walking through a beautiful Palmerie and old town, a hike I will never forget! The map that Ibrahim drew out for us was excellent too, and it will be our best souvenir of our trip. Truly an exceptional experience staying at this hotel, and I would recommend any visitors, climbers, hikers, base jumpers, who are looking to stay somewhere for good value for money and a hearty atmosphere in Todra, definitely stay here. Also, the best hot showers we have had our entire trip to Morocco! Much needed after a long day hiking in the cold mountain! We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you Ibrahim and the team, we will definitely be back!

Diner was delicious. Really hospitable hosts which are eager to help you with recommendations or any other things to make your stay comfortable. Location is perfect if you want to make a hike through Todra gorge. Parking is available. On terrace a nice view on the Todra Gorge.

“Nice little place in a spectacular setting.”

The staff were amazing. Mohamed and Hammou were great and provide help and advice when needed. The location is spectacular, surrounded by limestone walls which provide a unique setting. We went for a 10km hike on a loop that starts from the hotel and goes around the limestone ridge behind the hotel. It was great.

Everything was perfect: the location is great, the staff is awesome, Mohamed and Hamou are very nice people and very professional and are always ready to help. Brahmin, the owner, is also a great guy who is also always ready to help with anything you need. We will definitely come back to this place and stay in this hotel.

The hotel is right next to the entrance of the Todra gorge. Breakfast is included. The view from the room and the terrace is nice.
