Not Recommended – Unsafe Experience I booked this property through Booking.com and paid by card. At the property, I was asked to pay again in cash and was told to cancel the booking on Booking.com, which was not appropriate. During the night, there was no power, and despite calling more than 30 times, there was no response. We had no sleep at all, which was extremely difficult as we were traveling with an infant. Overall, this was a very uncomfortable and unsafe experience. I would not recommend this property, especially for families.

Very small. No where for bags. No safe. Doors didn’t lock and had to get them to repair. Beware it is like staying in a night club with all the music nearby and all you can hear all day is the traffic noise and horns beeping. Us and another couple had to leave this location on the first night due to noise and loss of power and they moved us to their other hotel but kept the money and didn’t refund it through bookings so booking lost out on fees. The hotel they moved use to. No service for 3 days and on last day no running water and it was ment to be 5 star.

We recommend this place 100%. If you want to experience the real essence of Ahangama, this is the place to stay. Anyone saying it’s noisy is probably not looking to stay in Ahangama itself, not an issue with this property in particular. Ahangama is a lively village by nature, and that’s exactly what makes staying here so special.

“A Special Place by the Beach”

If you like a village and beach vibe, this is your place. We loved it. Friends had recommended it to us, and it completely lived up to it. You have cafés right next door, real village life, and direct access to the beach, it really feels special.

We wouldn’t recommend focusing on the few lower reviews, after staying here, it’s clear they come from guests expecting a completely silent, isolated place, rather than the authentic atmosphere of a Southeast Asian town. If you appreciate the charm of Ahangama, this apartment is perfect. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Some reviews almost discouraged us from booking, but in the end we trusted the overall 10/10 rating, and we’re so glad we did. The place is absolutely spectacular and fully deserves that score. It’s important to understand that this is a matter of choosing the right location for your travel style. If you’re looking for total silence or a remote, isolated retreat, then staying right in the center of Ahangama might not be for you. Ahangama is a lively town, and with that comes the natural charm and background noise of local life. For us, this was part of the experience, and the accommodation itself is beautiful, well cared for, and truly special. The issue is not the place at all, it’s simply the nature of the town. If you enjoy being in the heart of things, this spot is a solid 10/10.

Location was great, cant beat those views! Having direct access to beach from bottom apartment is a game changer. Room was clean and was well equipped. Water filter is a nice touch

“Medusa is a spectacular place.”

Medusa is a spectacular place. It’s true that it’s located right in the middle of the village, and that comes with its own character, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. You’re immersed in real local life, with direct access to the beach. Literally five meters from your bed and you’re in the ocean. Location: 10/10 Decoration & vibe: 10/10 Staff: 10/10

“Overpriced stay with no hot water, no sleep, and management unwilling to take responsibility.”

Overpriced and not fit for purpose. We PAID USD 422.40 for two nights and left early due to no usable hot water, excessive noise, and no sleep. Management acknowledged the water issue but refused a fair refund, hiding behind policy and offering only alternative accommodation or a token partial refund. Very poor handling of a legitimate complaint. Would not recommend.

We were pleasantly surprised by how good this place was. The location is ideal, the food exceeded our expectations and breakfast was consistently great. Everything was extremely clean and well organized. For the price, it’s honestly a standout. Would recommend it without hesitation.

We can understand why some people might rate the place lower, it really comes down to personal preference. Being right in the center, surrounded by cafés and local life, can feel either like a plus or a minus depending on what you’re looking for. For us, it was definitely a positive. They’ve done renovations and keep improving the space; everything looked beautiful and well cared for. Honestly, we don’t understand how there could be such low ratings. The place is genuinely lovely. We’d be happy to stay again.
