“Amazing stay in a beautiful little villa with stunning surrounding views”

Wow, what can I say, apart from amazing little Villa with spectacular views surrounding the whole property. The villa is in a slightly remote area which means the villa is lovely and private and has very peaceful surroundings, yet it’s close enough to the local town five minute drive for amenities and even local restaurants. (CAR HIGHLY RECOMMEND) We stayed two weeks with two children and hired a car for our stay so that we could get around Chania , but it was always lovely to come back to the villa and soak up the Gorgeous views ,which could be seen from every room in the villa. The pool was an adequate size. The children had a lot of fun in it. It was lit at night and well maintained and cleaned by the host .As for the hosts we couldn’t have been looked after any better. The villa itself is very clean well equipped and nicely decorated. Manolis the property owner popped in every so often to check everything was okay, usually with a little gesture homemade cake, watermelon which was a lovely surprise. The katakis family were always reachable by messaging via booking.com. If we ever needed anything they were very accommodating and attentive. we were offered a clean each week which we greatly appreciated with two kids. The villa has a couple of local beaches 10 minutes drive or one a little further Stavros Beach which is so pretty and i highly recommend. Chania itself is just a beautiful town. We spent a lot of time in the old town so much to do and see there with endless shops, restaurants and bars only a 20 minute drive away. Overall we had a wonderful stay at katakis villa, we were very sad leaving such a beautiful place. We will definitely be returning in the future. Thank you for having us. 🫶🏻

We had a really relaxing stay at this beautiful villa. The pool and bbq area was a hit and we really enjoyed being able to eat outside every day. The house was perfectly furnished with everything we needed, and the showers and beds were very clean and comfy. Big thank you to the owner as he was very accommodating and answered any questions we had - he also came straight over when the power went out one evening and sorted it all out. Worth noting if you’re visiting in late October like we did, that the pool does get covered by shade for parts of the afternoon. You do need to drive to get to the shops/restaurants etc but as we had a car this wasn’t a problem.

“Lovely stay”

The villa felt very comfortable and private and has absolutely everything needed. We really enjoyed the homemade goods provided such as pastry and local liqueur —it was a lovely personal touch. The host was very helpful and accommodating, allowing us to do a late check-out, which made the departure much more relaxed. Overall, a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend staying here. There is Stavros beach only 15 mins drive that is a must to visit its beautiful!

Very attentive and welcoming

The villa was very clean, 3 bathrooms, one of which has a jacuzzi. The landscape opens up to the sea and the yard area is suitably private. The pool area is great. The family took excellent care of us and due to a late flight we were able to use the pool area of ​​their second apartment on the day of departure.We really enjoyed our vacation here

“Lovely, relaxing and very clean.”

If you are looking for a comfortable small villa, that fits the bill. Rural location (sheep and goats as neighbours) means you will need a rental car. It is peaceful, quiet and very relaxing. The house has all the necessary things, the pool is lovely and the garden is excellent- the scent of flowering orange and lemon trees was fantastic. Great terraces face north meaning sea and mountain views and shelter from the heat. The three bathrooms are functional and easy to keep clean (indeed Greek showers with no doors). The kitchen is well equipped and large fridge/freezer can be stocked up easily in nearby supermarket (7min by car). Bedrooms are very nice with good quality beds and beddings. All in all, a lovely home from home for over two weeks for us, we were very happy and felt safe and well looked after as the owners even oferred mid stay cleaning and gave the pool/garden a once over too. Location is residential, on a village road, the car is necessary, it is very close to some fantastic beaches where the parking was super easy.

Fifteen minutes from Chania Airport, you can reach Katakis Villas quite quickly. Everything is well prepared, the key is on the outside and everything is as it should be. From the beginning, you feel comfortable and nothing is missing. A little later, a warm welcome gift, Cretan almonds in dark chocolate, was delicious. Thanks! Your landlord also keeps in touch with you online, he asks several times whether everything is really to your satisfaction. Yes, that is the case. For environmental reasons, I am happy to refrain from additional cleaning of the villa and a change of towels in the middle of the week. I feel at home right from the start. The pool, the garden, the wonderful terrace. As an aviation freak, this is also a great place for plane spotters. Don't be bothered by the occasional military jets that take off. Otherwise, it is quiet, beautiful sunrises, and undisturbed use of the pool and garden is guaranteed. The pool usage regulations stipulate that bathing suits must be worn in the pool... for whatever reason, the area is not visible. Be that as it may, the hosts - and yes, they are not landlords but hosts - ensure that your stay is an unforgettable experience with delicacies and other small gifts. Katakis Villas is an ideal location to explore the island, especially the western area and explore Crete. The beach of Elafonisi (and the drive is worth it) can be reached in 90 minutes via Kissamos. There is enough space for everyone. Is there anything I didn't like? Yes, unfortunately, I have to say it like that. The vacation and my wonderful stay at Katakis Villa was over far too quickly. Thank you to my hosts for giving me such a wonderful time at Katakis Villa. It was difficult for me to leave and travel back to cold, wet northern Europe. I'll be happy to come back if I can. Villas is big for a kid and whole family. Nice living room and kitchen. ☺️☺️

Better looking than in photos,fully equipped with perfect garden with pool.A few minutes driving away from kounoupidiana where you can find anything needed.owners had left fruits cake and other kinds of gifts!

“A brilliant villa to stay in Crete where everything is close by if you have a car”

these villas are beautifully decorated with an amazing pool. very spacious with a beautiful outdoor area. you will definitely need a car here. if you have a car the supermarket is a 5 min drive and old town is also a 10 min drive. Manolis the owner was very helpful with getting us a rental car and also giving us lots local tips. Also having a washing machine was so good. Highly recommend
