“Functioned well for us”

It is probably the cheapest place in whole Adelaide, so don't expect five-star conditions. Nevertheless, we liked the bohemian vibes of the place although some sofas had lost their color during their long history and some bugs bit me during the night. The location is very good - near the Chinatown, Central market, the museum of indigenous people, beautiful parks, pubs and airport bus stop. The kitchen where we cooked our meals and tea was also a bonus.

Price fair enough but facilities is missing Becasue is 2 toilets, is enough if just only looking for a place to sleep that is

I liked the closeness to everything in Adelaide, the facilities were great. And the manager Jo is definitely the heart of the place, and she is a big help and has great advice. :) I definitely recommend her and her hostel and looking forward to going back there soon.

What i liked was the price for accommodation what I didn't like was the fact they hated marijuana. I have medical marijuana described to be me which helps me sleep and not he a total c*** . But these people rang the cops on me knowing full well people who stay at there location use crystal meth and worse I don't judge we are allowed to consume any and all drugs but some of the people who stay at Shinto or other backpackers use more serious drugs. I find it disturbing that they evivicted me for smoking weed when there is people who use heroin or meth on premise. You have to understand I'm described weed I wasn't hurting no one. The person below was smoking meth and you called the cops on me for smoking my pescribed medication.

Cheap but had everything for guests comfort ,bed and shower was A1,rested well.Plenty stoves and utensils but kitchen too small and often dirty.

Rude Receptionist or female owner, not so polite when customers are checking in,too worried about collecting money and not focused on good customer service.Kitchen cramped and very dirty after use ,ended up cleaning the messy kitchen few nights. Fridge is terribly full of food stuff and drinks and there's bound to be mix up or swap of food items stored in fridge,she ends up calling guests as "stealing" when a guest accidentally takes another guests soft drink by mistake,not intentional though .Despite explanations that it was not deliberate as same things were bought and left in fridge she keeps saying "you are stealing few times", what an insult, such a terrible rude person she is.

It is the cheapest Backpackers hostel that has the very basics, the name,the rate and what it provides is very basics, comfortable air conditioned shared beds to rest,enough toilets to use which are clean, warm showers with good flow of water,well equipped kitchen area to cook and eat, cheapest washing machine in town with only $3 per load to use and have your all clothes cleaned , great place to rest ,save and save money, only disadvantage the couches should have new covers to cover them daily ,first impression puts you off as looks dirty. Place needs regular cleaners to empty rubbish bins,clean toilets and deodorise and clean table and furniture surfaces so place will smell fresh and clean,floor as well needs to be mopped,cleaned with fresh smelling detergents to bring freshness.More clothe lines needed as well, otherwise great place with all basic comforts in life,warm showers,cheap laundry,warm comfortable bed,enough toilets and showers rooms and kitchen available.

The staff are really friendly and helpful. Nice early check in is available, the hostel doesn’t have any sort of cliquey feeling to it. It’s the cheapest hostel I found in Adelaide and I think for the money, really can’t complain.
