“Comfy bed , nice experience of Achill island”

Comfy bed, receptionist friendly professional & showed us around on arrival. Old fashioned quaint historic accommodation, a nice change from the norm. Breakfast was included in the price -nice coffee. 10/15 min to Keel where we had a lovely meal in L’Amyeste .€25 in a taxi however food & bar onsite & parking if u didn’t feel like leaving the Valley House .

Great facilities for a shared accommodation, you felt welcome to be in any space. Room was comfortable and we slept well. Plenty of easy parking, cosy bar on-site.

My friend and I stayed over the Easter holidays and had the most amazing time! The house is the ultimate cozy retreat—the bathroom and room were modern while still retaining their historic charm. The history is literally written on the walls, telling the story of the estate. The sofas in the lounge are incredibly comfortable, and the breakfast provided the perfect start to the day. The pub adjacent to it is an amazing place not only to meet fellow travellers but also to mingle with locals enjoying traditional music sessions. As an added bonus, we couldn’t hear any of the laughter or music once we were in our room! Additionally, the staff, as well as the owner we encountered, were exceptional. My friend and I travel a lot, but we have never felt so comfortable within minutes of stepping through the door. They bring a warmth to the place that is truly unmatched.

Beautiful location and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. A wonderful historic building that maintains its atmosphere whilst incorporating modern, clean bathrooms and a very well equipped kitchen. The bar was excellent and the traditional music a real bonus. We felt completely relaxed from the moment we arrived and could have easily stayed longer.

Beautiful location. Easy check in and friendly staff. Bed was super comfortable, shower was lovely after a day in the field, even if it took a minute to get it going. Kitchen area was very clean, bar and outside seating very cosy.

“Home from home in”

The Valley House is a home from home after many visits over the years. Everything you could possibly need and more. The kitchen in the courtyard is a brilliant upgrade this year. The restaurant, open for Christmas, has a broad menu. Delicious arancini and scallops were my favourites. The bar with its welcoming open fire and regular trad session on Thursdays is a comfortable place for all. Lively sessions with Jonny Moran got everyone involved.
