Lovely host, super welcoming and friendly. Gave good tips for our short visit. Unfortunately we could stay only for 1 day. Unbeatable for the price.

Sandra’s place is one of the warmest and most welcoming homes in the northern part of the island. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the beautiful scenery. Most importantly, Sandra is a wonderful host who gladly shares great recommendations for exploring parts of the island that are sometimes less known. We highly recommend staying here – we truly enjoyed our time!

We stayed 1 night to explore the east side of the island with our scooter. Sandra and her mother were very friendly when they showed us our rooms. The breakfast was delicious. It was home made with love. The room was clean with an ocean view.

The house was super clean and tge the lady nice even we came late night. It is a family big house.

The best host I’ve ever experienced! Ida, the mother of the owner Sandra, welcomed me warmly. She is a lovely and warm-hearted lady, even though she doesn’t speak English. She kindly gave me fresh eggs and delicious, fruity oranges. Before I left, she even gave me a postcard—what a thoughtful gesture! She and her husband were also very helpful when I had a problem with my bicycle—they immediately gave me a helping hand. The apartment is spacious and has a well-equipped kitchen. It’s located in a quiet, rural village with many beautiful hiking trails nearby.

Everything was great! Grandma especially helped with check-in and provided everything we needed. The room is cozy, oh the good old days. The price is especially low.

Host was not available at check in time, thus I was able to check in by her parents (so there is flexibility which is really appreciated). The house is huge, facilities are clean and I was allowed to use the kitchen. You are welcomed with a heart shaped towel on your bed, which is super cute

The Host, Sandra is one of the nicest people on earth. Always giving and sharing. Nothing was too much trouble and we were fortunate, albeit that we are sure that we are not the only ones, to be treated as friends rather than just guests. We were so thankful to her for making us inclusive and taking us by car at a small cost whenever and wherever we wanted. Sandra was bot transport, guide and fellow diner for meals out, a trip to the tea plantation and even a hen party.

The host was nice and accommodating. letting me leave my luggage after checkout was a big help view of the sunset from the house was great. the location is good, in a village with lots to see nearby

We had a very welcoming arrival, very friendly people. Children more than welcome! Parking space in front of the house. Nice views. And contact with other guests since she rent 4 rooms in the house. Familyrun. There were 2 bathrooms and big kitchen in this very big house to share. Also a playground for children in garden, basketbal. Can arrange local experiences. We liked the breakfast, with local and homemade things. They let us try Everlouisa tea, it is not for sale in supermarket, just a local thing. It is very nice they share those kinds of things, it makes your experience and knowledge of things in the world bigger. Thank you for our stay, if we ever come back to Azores we would stay here again. Walking distance to waterfall in caldeira dos ribreiros.

Not providing toilet paper is highly unusual: even the cheapest hostels in Bangkok don’t do this, as they understand the consequences. Telling the guests only on the day of arrival that no toilet paper will be provided elevates hospitality to yet another level. The village of Achada is not exactly a shopping paradise: the single small shop in the vicinity works irregular hours and is closed during weekends. Good luck finding toilet paper if you arrive on Saturday! It looks like the owners try to save a couple of euros by creating a major inconvenience to their guests.
