We were absolutely delighted with our stay. Everything was clean, tidy and warm, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and always available when needed. We had half board and the food was delicious with a good variety of choices. In the afternoon we were served snacks, which was a great bonus, and for dinner we could choose meals for our children from the kids’ menu, which was very convenient. The wellness area has a smaller but very clean and warm pool, whirlpool tubs and a sufficient number of saunas. I also treated myself to a massage, which was excellent. Just a 2–3 minute walk away there is a small ski and sledding area, and we were lucky to have plenty of snow during our stay. The town of Abtenau is very charming and has everything you need — a Spar supermarket, pharmacies and restaurants. We stayed at the hotel during winter, but we will definitely return in the warmer months to enjoy biking tours and other outdoor activities. Highly recommended!

The staff was incredibly kind, above our expectations. You can tell that everything in the hotel is well-thought-out and designed to make guests feel special (welcome gifts, additional menu for kids for dinner etc.) The pool and spa area are excellent, and the water was perfectly warm! Hotel is very close to small baby-slope for skiing and sledding. Thank you, we hope to visit you again!

Friendly and welcoming staff with a cosy country town vibe, close to the slopes. The food was authentic and plentiful! The kindest and most helpful hotel staff I have ever come across. The accommodation has everything you need with an authentic old Austrian village feel. We received complementary cake in our room and home made jams as a departure gift. Great value for money if you’re looking for a relaxed alpine holiday. Plenty of snow walks and beautiful scenery to see.

The staff was super nice, the communication was great. You can feel this place has a heart. The breakfast is exceptional. Location is great, and it's good you always have a parking space.

“A real little gem”

A real little gem! Every detail is taken care of. It’s in a beautiful location, only about half an hour’s drive from Hallstatt. The staff are kind and friendly, the room was clean and spacious ☺️ The breakfast was simply amazing. I can only recommend this place – we even received some lovely little gifts!”

Overall the staff is really unprofessional. Both at the reception and in the restaurant. At our arrival, we were waiting at the reception, until the receptionists finishes the call, which was really chatty with someone on phone (more than 5 minutes), as he apparently saw us standing 2m from him. The second time half an hour later happened the same. I came to the reception to ask about the dinner, the receptionist was on call, smiling, chatting and laughing with somebody on the phone. I was standing in front of him for more than 5 minutes. Once he was interrupted by other client coming, he told us that he could not hang up on the phone, because he is talking to the owner(!) Secondly, the personnel in restaurant is on the same "level". We were served by a lady that did not have properly adjusted clothing and what's more, she was wearing latex gloves(!) which not only were double her size, but dirty as she pointed in the paper menu and left an oil mark in that.

Good place to be. Excellent breakfast, good quality of meals in general. Quiet. Clean. Good and attentive service by all staff members. Nice wellness facilities. Lovely balcony. We have enjoyed our stay very much.

Nice room with mountain view, very good breakfast , fantastic dinner. The spa was fascinating. With half board at tea time free soup, salads and cakes were available.
