“Fantastic, couldn’t ask for more.”
Wanda was amazing. Made me feel very welcome and safe. The breakfast was fantastic. Even stored my luggage and let me take a shower before my transfer to Rio. I would book again in a heartbeat.

“Lovely little guest house would recommend - cake for breakfast!”
The staff are lovely, the breakfast is great and it feels like a little pocket of nature. They let us check in early, and leave our bags after checkout. The room was cleaned daily.

I stayed in beautiful Pousada Mãe Natureza, which is hidden in the upper part of the Abraao village. The staff was super hospitable and nice to me throughout my 9 day stay on Ilha Grande. My man Carlos told me where to go out what to do and showed me around the village! He also was kind to accommodate me at the medical centre for which I needed a translator since they don’t accept phone translation. The breakfast was fresh and super nice. It included fresh fruits, eggs and cakes. Definitely recommend this place!

“Lovely time in IIha Grande, this hostel felt like home”
The hostel was very beautiful, and in a good position. I was in a shared room with all girls, the staff was so kind with me, everything very clean ( the room was cleaned every day ) also the bathroom. The breakfast was in an amazing terrace with a lot of food, fresh and delicious, every day with something different ! I had a very wonderful time in this hostel, for all the time good vibes and positive energies ! And also I meet a lot of people. Especially thank to a girl of the staff, Xiro, she was so nice with me, I really appreciate her kindness, so happy to meet her, she gave me a lot of good advices and also she was very helpful with me !

“It was ok”
The pillows were very hard and the bed uncomfortable, which made it hard to rest. The towels are also very small, which is fine, but for a taller/bigger person may be inconvenient. We also had more cold showers than hot as the hot water was only working for 1/3 nights. The value for money is low, I consider it too expensive for the quality, service and breakfast.

“Pleasant stay”

“Avoid at all costs if you want to be able to sleep.”
The air-conditioning did not work and it was 34C at night. The lights in this sector of town go at around 6pm and this hostel does not have a generator of enough capacity to power the lights, fridge, shower and especially the aircon which makes for an extremely uncomfortable nights sleep. The staff and owner offered no solution other than saying it is not their problem as it is a problem with the electrical provider, even though nearby hostels had generators with enough capacity for all these amenities. Re-reading the critiques here, this problem has persisted since 2022 at least.

“Good stay, would recommend and visit again”
Nice place, good breakfast and enough space in the room. The beds were comfy and AC and fans in the room made it extra comfortable. The location was good (for this price) and the staff was nice and helpful.

“Nature”
I loved this place. Just back from the beach activity, this place was surrounded by nature. Spacious dorm was comfortable with private bathroom. The included breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The staff were pleasant, helpful, and interested. A very good price. Lovely time.
