“Amazing B&B we felt really looked after and the house is lovely.”
Undoubtedly one of the best experiences I've had staying in a bed and breakfast. The place itself lovely, the house is charming and quiet and has a nice garden that backs onto a field with sheep, the room was very comfortable, and we had very nice food at breakfast. But much more than that Liz, who runs the B&B, was incredibly kind and really went above and beyond, she couldn't have been nicer to us. We really felt looked after and Liz saved the day for us in lots of ways.

“The best B&B ever”
This is the best B&B experience we’ve ever had (and we’ve had quite a few). The room is lovely - big very comfy and lovely and quiet. But what makes this place special is the owner, Liz. She could not have been kinder, and went out of her way to help us in all sorts of ways. Truly above and beyond. She also cooks a brilliant breakfast - had in her beautiful garden. We’ll be recommending the Old Rectory to friends and family, and would recommend it to you!

“Liz made our stay totally memorable and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her or her property for anyone wanting to visi”
The property was very comfortable and Liz went out of her way to make our stay absolutely delightful. The breakfast was delicious and more than enough to set us up for the day. The location was perfect for us to visit Abergavenny town, to try out local restaurants and for all the mountain hiking we had planned.

“Beautiful home, wonderful host and amazing scenery”
The Old Rectory B&B is a charming place to stay for a break in the beautiful landscape of Monmouthshire. Liz, the wonderful host, is so warm and welcoming and made our stay even more memorable. The room we had was lovely, with the comfiest bed imaginable! And the breakfast Liz made each morning was delicious, with lots of extras like cereal, toast and even homemade marmalade! We will miss Liz and the Old Rectory and look forward to coming again!

“An exceptional mini break away”
Our host Liz was expectional! Nothing was too much for her in making us feel welcome in her beautiful home. Her 2 dogs made us feel right at home and we loved spending time with all of them and sharing their space. The most amazing views and surrounds. Definitely a country mini break away we both needed. We will be returning as soon as possible

“A great stay in a beautiful house with a lovely hostess.”
We enjoyed our stay in the B of Liz. The house is very nice and beautiful and Liz is a great hostess (helps you when you need something) with a good sense of humor. The breakfast was delicious. Near the house you can swim in the river. The garden is beautiful. There is a special cozy sitting room for guests. Nearby is a nice town (Abercavenny) with, among other things, a good pizzeria. Nearby is a lovely pub with good food. In the area you can go for a walk and visit churches.

We had an amazing time staying at the Old Rectory. Liz (plus her two dogs and her cat) gave us a very warm welcome. The house - as the name says - is a 200 years old rectory, lovingly restored and tended by Liz and looking like a film set for a costume drama. The bedroom was very cosy (with a great selection of English literary classics!), breakfast - including eggs from Liz‘s chickens, which you might meet wandering on the road to the house - is served in a wood-panelled dining room.

“Loved every minute of our stay”
We were warmly greeted by Liz as soon as we arrived, and from there our stay at The Old Rectory felt as comfortable as being at home. Liz is a superb host and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed during our 2 night stay. The house is just beautiful and our bedroom was comfortable and cosy, and the bathroom next door was extremely spacious. Liz served a beautifully cooked breakfast each morning with plenty of hot coffee. The ingredients for the breakfast are all locally sourced and were cooked to perfection. The location is stunning. Beautiful surroundings in gorgeous countryside. We visited Brecon, Usk and Abergavenny (all relatively close and well worth visiting) and climbed Pen Y Fan (about an hour’s drive). All in all a superb place to stay and highly recommended.
