Just 6 miles from the foot of Ben Lomond, this friendly 4-star hotel has a quiet location, on the shores of Loch Ard. It has a spa, a select menu of wines and whiskies, and an on-site activity centre. The Garden Restaurant at Macdonald Forest Hills Hotel & Spa has views of the hills, forest and loch. Dishes are made using fresh, seasonal local ingredients. A lounge bar with lighter meals and afternoon teas is also available. The rooms are decorated in warm tones and they all have an en suite bathroom. They also include tea/coffee making facilities and many have balconies with views across Loch Ard to the Trossachs. The activity centre offers mountain biking, rock-climbing, fly-fishing, guided walks and archery. “Nice Setting but NOT Worth The Money - Avoid Rafters at all costs”
The bed in our room was super comfortable with a lovely large bathroom. The leisure facilities such as the pool and gym were very clean and maintained well. Some staff such as the lounge bar staff, for example the young guy Harry, and reception staff were welcoming and friendly. The setting is beautiful with well maintained grounds and plenty parking. Overall breakfast selection was good too.

“We had a fantastic time - will definitely stay here again!”
This is a lovely hotel with a wonderful array of outside spaces which are stunningly beautiful, all in an amazing lochside setting! We especially enjoyed the spa facilities. The food in the restaurants was excellent. We also found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

Stunning location, great facilities (pool and spa), beautifully appointed rooms, absolutely amazing food. Simply delicious. Check out the wild swimming spot and sauna on the loch shore just before you enter the property. It looks fun.

“Good stay in a nice hotel.”

The location is absolutely mindblowing, quiet and picture perfect. You can see Loch Ard and the sunsets are amazing. The lawn and grounds are well maintained and offer some leisure space.
