“Beautiful location with friendly staff”

Convenient location for the Picos de Europa, and onward travel to Bilbao for our return ferry. The hotel stood beautifully in the hillside, with secure parking and exceptionally friendly staff.

Great hotel in a quiet tiny village in 10 minutes drive from San Vicente. Very convenient place to stop for a night. The hotel is a standalone beautiful building with spacious rooms and a restaurant, serving a great food. The staff is extremely nice and helpful.

One staff member spoke fairly good English so assisted with the menu and taking our order in the restaurant which served some really good food. Nice bright airy room, good wifi and only about 6 miles to the lovely town of San vicente de Barquera

The location is stunning. Set on a village, cattle in the field, looking across to the mountains. The breakfast is a treat, part self service but hot drinks made for you and hot cobs. Fruit is freshly cut. This is family run with exceptional warmth and customer service.

Very kind personnel of a family driven hotel. Excellent kitchen and beverage against fair prices. Abanillas is a small village in the countryside and while there is not so much to see except countrylife it is very quiet in the night. So it is a perfect startingpoint for all kind of daytrips inland or to the coast (at 9 km) and have a very good meal/sleep afterwards.

We loved the personal service given by the family that ran it. The delicious breakfast and evening meals were locally sourced and homemade. It was set in the centre of a beautiful, traditional Spanish village with cows in the fields around. A traditional built hotel with lovely cool interior. All the other guests were Spanish but we felt very welcome. Staff delivered an excellent service and went out of their way to assist us as English speaking tourists. It is ideally located for beautiful beaches, traditional Spanish resort towns and the National Europe Park. We are hoping to return next year.

Staff was friendly. Breakfast was really nice, they had 3 shifts to breakfast as a COVID measure to avoid contact.

Included in the price of the room was a delicious, hearty breakfast every morning served by the staff, with all the Covid restrictions in place, such as good ventilation and social distancing. The room was charming with beautiful views from both the bedroom and bathroom windows. The shower was nice and strong, with plenty of hot water.

Staff is helpful, hotel surroundings are very quite. Good overall location, not to far from the ocean or the mountains.

Breakfast and views

Staff was polite and usually helpful. The hotel is well maintained and conveniently located close to A8 and a couple of sea or mountain attractions.
